There was an attempted armed robbery of the Town Liquor store Sunday night.
When an employee screamed for help, one of the suspects fired a round into the wall behind her.
The incident took place at approximately 6:32 p.m. on Aug. 17. Two men entered the store, located at 2117 Route 130 south, and demanded money from an employee behind the counter stating, “Give me the money,” according to the Florence Township Police Department.
When the employee passively refused to comply, one of the suspects pointed a black handgun in her direction and fired. A male employee in the backroom heard the female employee scream and the gunshot, went up front and the two suspects fled, according to police.
Nothing was taken from the store and no injuries were sustained during the incident, police said.
Police said it is unknown at this time if the suspects fled the area on foot or in a vehicle. A pedestrian in the area reported seeing a silver color Chrysler 300 with a black front bumper leaving the area at a high rate of speed. Police said it is a possible suspect vehicle.
The first suspect is a described as a black male wearing gray denim pants, a black and gray horizontal striped hooded sweatshirt with a front pocket, a black hat with a gray brim and white gloves. He was between 5-foot-8-inches and 5-foot-10-inches tall with a thin build.
The second suspect is described as a black male wearing black denim pants, a black hooded sweatshirt with the Philadelphia Flyers logo on the back and carrying a red bag. He was between 5-foot-10-inches and 6 feet tall with a medium build.
Anyone with information regarding the suspects or vehicle involved in this incident should contact the Florence Township Police Investigative Division at 609-499-3131.
