A 24-year-old West Windsor Township resident reported the theft of her purse and her wallet, which contained $25 in cash plus personal papers, from her 1999 BMW while it was parked in the lot outside the New Jersey Athletic Club on Quakerbridge Road between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. Aug. 12.
The thief broke the front passenger side window and grabbed the purse and wallet, valued at a combined $1,850, from the floor of the car. The credit cards in the wallet were found to have been used at a convenience store in Langhorne, Pa.
A Pearle Vision Express employee told police someone stole some credit cards and her driver’s license from her purse that had been left in the area of the store’s bathroom at 6:07 p.m. Aug. 14. She told police that three people entered the store and one of them asked to use the bathroom. When she checked on her purse sometime later, she discovered the theft.
A shoplifter escaped with $344 worth of razor cartridges, razors and electric shavers from the CVS drug store on Brunswick Pike at Cherry Tree Lane at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 13. The shoplifter concealed the items in a backpack and left the store without paying for them.
A 77-year-old Hamilton Township woman reported the theft of her wallet from her shopping cart at the Bed Bath & Beyond Store at the Mercer Mall at 5 p.m. Aug. 13, after a man distracted her by asking her to help him select a gift for his mother. Her credit cards were used a short time later to make purchases at the Best Buy store.
A 32-year-old Princeton resident told police someone stole his cell phone, valued at $75, which he had left in his shopping cart at the Dollar Tree store on Brunswick Pike. The theft occurred sometime between 10:50 a.m. and 2 p.m. Aug. 15.
Mustafa Hussain, 28, of East Windsor Township, was charged with driving under the influence, refusal to take a Breathalyzer test, reckless driving, failure to have insurance, failure to maintain his lane, driving too slow and failure to pull over for an emergency vehicle on Brunswick Pike at 1:39 a.m. Aug. 16. He was released to his brother’s custody.
A 38-year-old Plainsboro Township resident reported the theft of a bag containing an Apple iPhone and other items, valued at a combined $450, which had been left on a table at the J.C. Penney department store at 3:34 p.m. Aug. 16.
A shoplifter left the J.C. Penney store with a $450 Dyson vacuum cleaner sometime between 6:40 p.m. and 6:55 p.m. Aug. 17.
Shaquane Gibbs, 19, of Hamilton, was charged with two counts of attempted burglary after a witness saw him trying to get into two cars that were parked on Palm Court at 12:55 a.m. Aug. 17. The witness yelled at him, and he fled. He was taken to the Mercer County Corrections Center on $10,000 bail with the 10-percent option on an outstanding warrant.
Rauf Arshad, 46, of Princeton Junction, was charged with shoplifting a pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses, worth $150.
