Learn a Lesson in Love From "Anne of Green Gables"

By: Jesse Roy
BUCKINGHAM – Take a stay-cation with Town and Country Players this August. The heart-warming, family play, Anne of Green Gables takes audiences away to a small farm on Prince Edward Island, Canada. Experience the antics and mis-adventures of Anne, the red-headed orphan girl, who wins the hearts of everyone she meets.
John Neuman directs this version of story by playwright Sylvia Ashby. Audience members who are familiar with the well-known book by the same name will recognize the spirited adventures Anne has as a young girl.
Anne, played by Pennsbury sophomore, Victoria Vouk, is always full of good intentions. But she drives her adoptive family, Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert, played by Tim Anderson and Valerie Sharper, to distraction when she and her playmates inevitably fall into trouble. But at the end of the day, it is Anne who ultimately teaches Matthew and Marilla a lesson in the power of love.
Producer, Victoria Schultheis, says Families will relate to the three characters. Anne of Green Gables reminds us how much joy and love one child can bring.
Anne of Green Gables plays August 22, 23, 29, 30, September 5 and 6 at 8:00 pm. Matinee performances are August 23, 24, 30, 31, and September 6 at 3:00 pm. During the Sunday matinee performances, audience members are invited to bring a copy of the book, Anne of Green Gables, and their cameras for a chance to take their picture with Anne.
