Local Students Announce Second Annual Model UN Conference for Homeschoolers

Ken Emery
Registration for AHMUNC 2014 is now open.  Model UN provides students opportunities to not only study and write about topics of international importance, but also a form to engage in active dialogue and develop public speaking skills.  AHMUNC is designed to give homeschoolers Model UN experience firsthand and provide them with the training necessary to get them started. New Jersey homeschool students Nathan Emery, Secretary-General, and Nicholas Pearson, Charge d’Affaires, of the American Homeschool Model United Nations Club are organizing the one-day conference on September 20, 2014, the day before the UN International Day of Peace, in Princeton, NJ.
AHMUNC 2014 will include a speech by the distinguished Jeffrey Laurenti, who graduated magna cum laude in government from Harvard University and received his masters in public affairs from Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs.  The day will also include a presentation on the benefits of Model UN from University of Pennsylvania student Nicholas Emery, a writing workshop from Princeton University Model UN best position paper award winner Nathan Emery, and training from experienced delegate Nicholas Pearson.
