FLORENCE: Police pursue dirt bike rider

Police had to chase a dirt bike rider on foot after he crashed on W. Front Street around 3:30 p.m. Aug. 7.
Rontae Worthen, 19, of Bordentown, was driving the motorized bike on W. Front St. when police tried pulling him over. He fled on the bike but crashed. Police then chased him and later found him hiding in a residence on W. Front St., according to the Florence Police Department.
Police took him into custody and charged him with eluding, speeding, reckless driving, driving an unregistered and uninsured vehicle, failure to report an accident, leaving the scene of an accident, not wearing a helmet, failure to maintain a lane and driving on a sidewalk.
Bail was set at $20,000 and he was taken to Burlington County Jail in lieu of bail pending a court appearance.
Police allege that two residents of the home where Mr. Worthen was found hiding wouldn’t allow them to search the residence. Fabian T. Davis Sr., 44, and Fabian T. Davis Jr., 21, were charged with hindering and obstruction. Bail was set at $7,500 each and they were taken to Burlington County Jail in default of bail pending a court appearance.
