Police are searching for a 2006-12 4-door light colored Nissan Altima that was involved in the Aug.10 hit-and-run accident on Sylvan Avenue.
The Hamilton police said the suspect vehicle should have front-end damage as well as damage to the front undercarriage molding. Police have determined that the vehicle was occupied by two males and one female.
The first suspect has been described as a male approximately 25-30 years old with a stocky build, between 5-foot-5-inches and 5-foot-10-inches tall and wearing a light colored shirt and dark colored shorts. The second suspect has been described as a male approximately 25-30 years old with a thin build, between 5-foot-8-inches and 6 feet tall and wearing a light colored shirt and light colored shorts. The third suspect has been described as a female approximately 25-30 years old with a stocky build, between 5-foot-5-inches and 5-foot-8-inches tall with long dark hair and wearing a light colored shirt and light colored shorts with flip flops or sandals, according to police.
Ryan Hamilton, 24, was crossing the street in front of his house on Sylvan Avenue behind Foley’s Market around 2:41 a.m. when a vehicle came around the corner and hit him and then dragged him 100 yards, according to Hometown Heroes in Toms River, which has established a charity fund for Mr. Hamilton.
Mr. Hamilton was transported by emergency medical service personnel to Capital Health Regional Medical Center for treatment of the injuries sustained in the collision, according to police. He had his pelvis repaired, has started rehabilitation and has been moved out of the intensive care unit but has a long road to recovery ahead of him, according to his sister, Kaitlin Hamilton, who has been updating the public on his condition via her facebook page.
”Instead of owning up to this mistake, the individuals who hit Ryan proceeded to get out of their car, assessed the situation, ran him over again, and then drove away,” the Hometown Heroes website states.
Hometown Heroes first heard of this situation from Ryan’s sister, Kaitlin, and is collecting donations to help Mr. Hamilton and his family during this difficult time, according to its website. To make a donation to the Hamilton family through Hometown Heroes, visit http://usahometownheroes.com/ryan-hamilton-2.
