Laurita Winery is grateful for its generous customers who helped generate a large donation during the “Food Truck and Fire Pits” event held this past July.
Patrons kind efforts resulted in a check totaling $7,000 that will be donated to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS). This donation benefits LLS in its mission to finding a cure and improving the quality of life of patients and their families. It also helps accelerate new treatments and healing therapies once thought impossible, according to a news release from the winery.
Today, the LLS supports research, patient services, public and professional education, advocacy and community services. Nearly one million volunteers from all walks of like give generously of their time and talents to implement LLS’s programs. They provide professional guidance and help raise vitally needed funds. The LLS helps fund lifesaving research and patient services while providing help and hope to people with blood cancers, according to the winery.
Laurita Winery is proud to be an active member of the local community. Since 2008, it has strengthened its connections to different causes each year by giving products and monetary donations. Laurita is grateful to have such a kind and caring clientele.
Laurita does not set a limit on how much it can raise. It’s not only about money. It’s about awareness, according to Kate Devine, marketing and entertainment director, at the winery.
” ‘Food Truck’ is an event where we reach a large audience, if we can get enough people passionate about certain charitable organizations and philanthropies, it proves more powerful than the dollar amount we can raise in a single year,” Ms. Devine said. “These people will turn into charitable donors for the rest of their lives. It’s all about benefiting the people in our community in the end. Thanks to the generous support of LLS, hundreds of thousands of people diagnosed with blood cancer are today living normal, productive lives. Giving back to the community is part of who we are and what we do and our customers are at the heart of it.”
Laurita Winery’s next “Food Truck” event will take place Aug. 23-24 and will benefit families affected by autism. Additionally, Laurita will be hosting its annual “Vines of Life Walk” to benefit breast cancer research on Sunday, Sept. 28.
