POLICE BLOTTER: Aug. 21

A resident reported two magnetic business signs valued at $100 were stolen off a truck while it was parked in the Wal-Mart lot Aug. 11.
The investigation is continuing.
Jorge A. Tavares Jr., of Manville, was charged Aug. 11 at 7:55 p.m. with eluding, resisting arrest, receiving stolen property, drunken driving and various motor vehicle offenses by Officer Richard Canuso after striking a curb and not stopping at North 3rd Street and Brooks Boulevard, police said.
An ambulance was called. He was taken to Robert Wood Johnson Somerset, then to the Somerset County Jail.
A resident reported Aug. 12 that $1,150 was stolen from the bedroom of his South Main Street home.
A resident of Jasinski Avenue called police Aug. 12 at 8:48 p.m. to report two juveniles were hiding behind a tree in her side yard and did not respond when she yelled at them to leave. They were gone when police arrived.
A resident of North 13th Avenue advised police Aug. 13 that two men came to her door claiming to be from ABC Water of Newark, indicating there were water problems.
She did not let them into her house. She said that earlier in the week two other men came to her door and told her they were cutting down her neighbor’s tree, which she later discovered was not true.
Aug. 12, another man came to her door and also wanted to check the water. The resident was advised to contact police headquarters if any of the men return.
A 2-year-old in a diaper was seen walking alone near the post office on Brooks Boulevard on Aug. 13 at 5:31 p.m. Police reunited her with her father.
A fight broke out between two women Aug. 14 at 12:20 a.m. in front of Wal-Mart at 100 N. Main St.
The dispute concluded prior to patrol’s arrival. The parties were advised of their right to sign complaints, but they declined, police said.
Both women were Wal-Mart employees, who were fired prior to departing, police said.
Tracey Ferrullo, manager of Quick Chek on Brooks Boulevard, reported Aug. 14 that on Aug. 12 at 10:10 p.m. someone took the Juvenile Diabetes donation jar containing $200 to $300 off the counter at the front of the store.
Patrolman Ryan Steier is investigating.
John Felegi, 60, of Manville, was taken to Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center by ambulance Aug. 14 at 2:08 p.m. after falling off his bicycle. He was charged with disorderly conduct.
A laptop MacBook valued at $1,200 was stolen from a vehicle on Clinton Avenue between Aug. 13 at 9 a.m. and Aug. 14 at 6:30 a.m. The investigation is continuing.
A resident reported several items totaling about $300 missing from his N. 1st Ave. address Aug. 14. He reported the theft as a matter of record and wants no action taken, police said.
Lisa M. Palmieri, 29, of Old Bridge, was stopped by Detective William Sampson on Aug. 15 at 7:37 p.m. for an outstanding traffic warrant for $1,000 from Monroe Township.
She was charged with driving with a suspended license, posted bail and was released.
A resident of 200 Washington Ave. complained Friday that her neighbor installed a new motion sensor light that shined into her bedroom window each time a car drove by. The homeowner redirected the light.
Someone entered the detached garage belonging to Roe Industries at 671 Manville Ave. between Aug. 14 and Saturday and stole a number of undisclosed items valued at about $10,000.
Sunday at 1:29 a.m., a resident of Dukes Parkway called police to report that two vehicles parked in his driveway were damaged, and it appeared as if another car had crashed into them. The vehicles were a 2012 Subaru and a 2005 Acura.
