LOCAL STARTUP TO BE FEATURED ON EMMY NOMINATED, “FRIDAY ARTS” ON PBS (WHYY)
Allentown, NJ, August 23, 2014
The Emmy Nominated, 2014 “James Beard Award” winning program Friday Arts will feature Local Abundance, the Allentown-based food company, on their Friday,September 5th episode.
Local Abundance, launched in January 2014, is both a business and a movement dedicated to creating a more transparent link between consumers and those that produce their food. They specialize in seafood, meat and game raised and harvested sustainably. They buy direct from the source, tell the complete “story” of each item they sell, and offer a level of freshness not available in traditional “brick and mortar” retail locations.
With Local Abundance, consumers are closer than ever to the source of their food. Founder, Jennifer Hill:  “Typically the food on your plate has gone through 3 or 4 companies before it reaches you. Not anymore. We bring food from the source, right to your plate.” Hill adds, “With Local Abundance, everyone wins. Consumers get fresher, healthier, completely transparent food and our producers get to keep more of their profits. This is the only way to protect the future of a healthy, independent food system.”
Pickup locations are spreading quickly across the region. For more information about ordering, visit www.localabundance.org or email [email protected]
