Demolition of the old Princeton hospital site is scheduled to begin in two weeks, the municipal engineering department said Tuesday.
Originally, the town said tearing down the buildings was planned to begin Thursday. But "due to additional asbestos requiring removal, this work is currently anticipated to begin the week of September 15," the engineering department said in its weekly update on work at the site.
Developer AvalonBay is planning to construct a 280-unit residential development on the property.
The company plans to have a community meeting, scheduled for Wednesday starting at 6:30 p.m. in the Witherspoon Hall municipal building, to brief the public on the demolition.
