EAST WINDSOR — Mayor Janice S. Mironov announced that Novo Tech has opened on Princeton Hightstown Road (Route 571) across from Route 133, in the nearly 43,000 square foot Patscentre building, designed by renowned British architect Sir Richard Rogers, best known for the Pompidou Cultural Centre in Paris.
The building, originally occupied by P.A. Technology when it opened in 1984, was most recently occupied by Phyton Biotech, Inc. and has been unoccupied since 2007.
Novo Tech, which has relocated from East Brunswick, is a high-tech compounding pharmacy that specializes in customized pharmaceuticals and will use the facility for research and development with accompanying offices.
Owned and operated by brothers Patrick and Sam Patel for about four years under their former company name Innovo, Novo Tech currently has approximately 35 employees and plans to add employees to increase their distribution and sales force as business expands.
"We are excited that pharmaceutical research and development company Novo Tech has chosen East Windsor as home, adding new jobs and occupying one of the most prominent, unique and visible facilities in the Township," Mayor Mironov said. "Sam and Patrick Patel were attracted to the architecture and engineering features of the Patscentre building and the site is a perfect fit for their manufacturing, research and development goals. East Windsor is a perfect location for this type of company, and we are pleased to add Novo Tech to the many pharmaceutical related firms which have chosen to locate in East Windsor, including Hovione, CoreTech, Aprecia, Sabinsa, and Windsor Labs. East Windsor offers a great location and resources locally to support and grow an innovative and ambitious company as Novo Tech."
Mayor Mironov noted that, "interestingly, the entire building is a demonstrated engineering feat, which by the visible and dramatic exterior roof and frame construction, with a higher roof and column free interior, provides more natural light and allows for a more efficient and flexible interior design."
"East Windsor Township is an ideal location for technology companies servicing the pharmaceutical industry due to the Township’s proximity to so many professional and medical centers throughout the region," Novo Tech Managing Director Patrick Patel said. "The availability of highly qualified employees is another reason why we chose to move our company to East Windsor. We appreciate the professionalism that the Township of East Windsor has shown us during the entire process of relocating to our new home and look forward to being a part of this great community."
Novo Tech has invested in state- of-the-art equipment and developed detailed processes that ensure their products are formulated consistently and precisely to patient needs and limitations.
