Seniors Samantha Binn (center back), Drew Ryan (center midfielder) and Alexa Barriero (center midfielder) are the nucleus of returning players looking to help Middletown High School North’s girls soccer team rebound from a winless season last fall.
Third-year coach Trish Misciagna said the team had a great preseason as it prepares for the Shore Conference A North Division.
“I like that a lot of them have been playing together the last couple of years,” she said. “They’re comfortable playing together and play hard for each other.”
Sophomore Stephanie Trelford is the goalie. The forwards are senior Annie Rozzo, junior Carly Jankowski and freshman Mackenzie Kernan, rounding out the key players for this season. Misciagna said she is still determining her defensive lineup.
The staff includes Michael Halloran as junior varsity coach and Megan McDermott as freshman coach.
