A reception with the cast and crew follows the opening night performance on September 12th.
This Tennessee Williams classic reveals to the very depths the character of Blanche DuBois, a woman whose life has been undermined by her romantic illusions, which lead her to reject—so far as possible—the realities of life with which she is faced and which she consistently ignores. The pressure brought to bear upon her by her sister, with whom she goes to live in New Orleans, intensified by the earthy and extremely “normal” husband of the latter, leads to a revelation of her tragic self-delusion and, in the end, to madness.
Leading the cast as the tragic “Blanche DuBois” is Ariana Elizabeth Fort of Three Bridges. Brian Remo of Rahway is the earthy and passionate Stanley Kowalski, with Morgan O’Neill Petronis of Ewing, as his long suffering wife, Stella. Rounding out the cast is Peter Bisgaier of Princeton as Mitch, Blanche’s love interest; Joe Buz of Somerset and Ashley Widmer of Milltown as the upstairs neighbors, Steve and Eunice Hubbell; Jaime Castro of Bridgewater as Pablo Gonzales; Diane Parker of Old Bridge, as a neighbor and flower seller; Ross Pohling of Westfield as the young collector; Scott Karlin of Plainsboro as the doctor and Emily Russoniello of Somerset as the Nurse.
The production is being directed and designed by Judi Parrish of Ewing. Howard Gross of Somerset and Emily Russoniello are the producers; Kayla Abbatiello of Bridgewater is the stage manager; Dominick Abbatiello of Bridgewater is the lighting designer and Crystal Coddington of Somerset is the props designer.
This celebrated play had a long and successful run on Broadway and the road. A tragic and effective drama which ranks as one of the greatest in our theatre.
