Sgt. Kenneth Pryor was sworn in as a lieutenant on the township police force Tuesday night .
The post came open with the retirement of Lt. Bill Geary, after 25 years of service.
Flanked by his family, Sgt. Pryor took the oath from Mayor Doug Tomson at the Township Committee meeting. Lt. Pryor will be paid an annual salary of $139,235.
The force has 50 officers, with one chief, one captain, four lieutenants, seven sergeants and six corporals. One additional patrol officer is expected to be hired in a few weeks.
