EAST BRUNSWICK — Carrie Wan, an East Brunswick resident just starting out a new career as a nurse, recently received the Lester Z. Lieberman Humanism in Healthcare Award from the Healthcare Foundation of New Jersey (HFNJ).
Wan was one of 30 nursing faculty, nursing students and employees from 18 area facilities who were honored at an HFNJ awards reception for providing extraordinary care to patients and their families.
Wan graduated in May from the fouryear Bachelor of Science in nursing program at Rutgers School of Nursing, where she served as president of her class and a member of several school committees.
She has volunteered with organizations such as the Community Food Bank of New Jersey.
She recently accepted a nursing position at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York.
