Janet Burns-Beck, formerly of Millstone Township, and Jim Beck of Princeton and Hilton Head, S.C., announce the engagement of their son, William Largen, to Brittany Pearson, daughter of Lee and Helen Pearson of Wilmington, N.C.
A gala was held at Diamond’s restaurant in Princeton to honor the couple. Among the many guests was Valerie McPhee, a special friend of the family who is president of the Women’s Auxiliary at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township, accompanied by several Women’s Auxiliary members.
Largen is a graduate of the Academy of Allied Health and Science High School, Neptune. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, Pa., where he was the valedictorian, and a Doctor of Medicine degree with honors from the Temple College of Medicine, Philadelphia, Pa. He completed a three-year residency in internal medicine and is a fellow in infectious disease at the Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston, S.C.
The future bride is a graduate of John T. Hoggard High School, Wilmington, N.C. She earned a Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of North Carolina, Wilmington, and is currently completing a master’s degree in nursing as a primary care nurse practitioner from the University of South Carolina, Columbia. She is employed as a registered nurse at the Medical University of South Carolina, Columbia.
An April 2015 wedding is planned.
