Lambertville will continue its tradition as home to a large and eclectic celebration of Halloween with its annual parade and citywide trick-or-treating, which attracts thousands of people.
The Halloween parade, which has been around for more than 75 years, is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26, at Mary Sheridan Park, at the corner of York and George streets. The parade will wind through town and end at the Little League field on North Main Street, where costumes will be judged.
Individuals wishing to participate in the parade may pre-register at www.halloween08530.com by 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25. Day-of registration also will be available at Mary Sheridan Park immediately prior to parade from 2 to 2:45 p.m. A full listing of costume categories, description of the parade route and other information for parade participants is available at www.halloween08530.com.
Trick-or-treating will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 31. To accommodate and ensure the safety of participants, North Union Street will be closed to all traffic from York to Buttonwood streets from 5 until about 8:30.
Coordinators for the parade are Pam Baker, Sharon Burd, Mary Freedman, Muriel Meserve and Cheryl Pittore. Individuals wishing to assist with registration or organization should phone either Muriel Meserve at 609-397-1214 or City Hall at 397-0110.
