HAMILTON: Free flu clinics are postponed

HAMILTON — Delays in vaccinations originally scheduled to arrive in August will require the township to postpone its free flu clinics until shipments arrive.
The first clinic was originally scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 18, but will be rescheduled as soon as vaccinations are received.
"Originally, vaccinations were set to be delivered to our Health Division in August; unfortunately the delivery date has continued to be delayed. However residents should rest assured that we will reschedule these clinics as soon as the vaccinations are delivered," said Martin Flynn, Hamilton’s director of Health, Recreation, Seniors and Veterans Services.
Hamilton’s Division of Health anticipates receiving this year’s flu vaccinations by the end of September, but that will require rescheduling the two flu clinics that were originally set for Sept. 18 and Sept. 23.
A tentative schedule for Hamilton’s free flu clinics will now be Oct. 1 at the Nottingham Fire House at 200 Mercer St. from 5-8 p.m.; Oct. 7 at Project Freedom at 715 Kuser Rd. from 5-8 p.m.; Oct. 10 at Nottingham Fire House at 200 Mercer St. from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Oct. 16 at John O. Wilson Center at169 Wilfred Ave. from 9 a.m. to noon; and Oct. 25 at the Hamilton Township Library at 1 Samuel Alito Way from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
As a courtesy, the flu immunization clinics are free to Hamilton residents only; and proof of residency is required.
Children ages 9 and older may receive vaccinations, but minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. However, parents or guardians may wish to consult their physicians regarding vaccinations.
Flu vaccines are also available for homebound residents, who can call Hamilton’s Division of Health at 609-890-3884 to schedule an appointment.
Pneumonia vaccinations are available for Hamiltonians ages 65 and older or adults with chronic medical conditions.
