Chesterfield, NJ- Fernbrook Farms will host its second annual Fall 5K Farm Run on its 230-acre preserved farm on Sunday, September 28th. Runners aged 11 and up can participate in a 5K race through farm fields, forests, across a creek, and through a little mud. With fun obstacles and varied terrain, the course is perfect for all skill levels.
For children aged 10 and under, there will also be a Mini Mile Fun Run with obstacles of its own through Fernbrook’s meadow and forest.
After the race, participants and their friends and families can enjoy a fall day on the farm. Lunch and snacks by Fernbrook’s Chef Christine Wendland will be available for purchase, and there will be opportunities to visit Fernbrook’s friendly farm animals.
Race registration includes Farm Run T-Shirt and burlap race bib. Participants can register online at www.fernbrookeducation.org. Registration is $40 for adults/$22 for kids in advance or $45/$25 at the door on race day. Advanced registration is recommended to guarantee a spot. Check-in will begin at 8:30AM.
In addition to the race, Fernbrook will also host an Estate Sale featuring furniture, china, antiques, and other miscellaneous household items for sale. All proceeds support Fernbrook Farms Environmental Education Center’s Urban Field Trip Program, which supports hands-on environmental field trips for urban students.
