Mayor Doug Tomson and Township Committeewoman Gloria McCauley say they will be knocking on doors and sending news items to share their thoughts and plans in the next several weeks.
"In addition to overseeing the township, we’re elected to listen to your thoughts and views," said a campaign press release. "That’s why we have always prided ourselves on being available to you throughout the year, not just during campaign season. The two Republican candidates say they are "honored" to serve Hillsborough.
"Together, we have close to 10 years leading our township government, including both of us serving as mayor and deputy mayor," said the statement. "All during that time, we’ve kept our promise of providing a strong fiscally minded government, vital services and an exceptional quality of life."
"As much as we would like to meet with all residents personally, it is not always possible. We will, however, be providing weekly correspondence to ensure everyone is fully informed of our plans and goals for Hillsborough’s future," read the statement.
The candidates’ background, record and ideas are covered on a campaign website at www.HillsboroughGOP.com.
"It is a tremendous honor to serve Hillsborough as mayor and Township Committeewoman," they said. "We hope to have earned your trust and confidence and, on Election Day, your vote."
