Macy’s ninth annual “Shop For A Cause” one-day shopping event has raised $118,218 in support of the March of Dimes mission to help moms in New Jersey have full-term pregnancies and healthy babies.
Programs for moms and babies in our area that will benefit from these vital funds raised include
Becoming a Mom/Comenzando bien – provides group prenatal education to teach pregnant women to have a healthy pregnancy; the supportive group environment is designed to help promote healthy behaviors and equip women to make better decisions about their health.
Centering Pregnancy – provides access for women to group prenatal care; a model that combines prenatal health care, education, and support and has been shown to reduce the incidence of preterm birth and low-birth weight babies and empowers women to choose health-promoting behaviors.
“Macy’s support is critical in helping us provide moms with access to prenatal education and other programs to improve and protect their babies’ health,” said Gina Radice, March of Dimes Executive Director of the North Jersey Division “We’re so grateful to Macy’s for supporting our efforts, which are so important to New Jersey families.”
"Macy’s continues to be inspired to give back and proud to offer our customers an easy way to make a positive difference in the March of Dimes mission for stronger, healthier babies in communities across the country," said Martine Reardon, Macy’s Chief Marketing Officer.
The March of Dimes was the exclusive national beneficiary of in-store and online savings pass sales for Macy’s 2014 “Shop for A Cause.” For more information about “Shop For A Cause,” visit macys.com/magicofgiving.
