The 5K course will include a cemetery scene. Runners will enter Spruce Run Cemetery where they will encounter a toxic waste spill. The toxic spill has disastrous consequences, re-animating the dead and creating an army of Zombies. Runners who are able to outsmart the Zombies will be permitted to exit the cemetery and make their way to the finish line, where relieved family and friends will be cheering on survivors.
Voorhees High School students and staff will transform into Zombies, and principal Ron Peterson will be among the living dead. The school Drama Club, led by Nancy Reynolds, will be providing make up for the Zombies.
The second annual Zombie 5K Run is presented by the Voorhees High School Education Foundation and sponsored by the Hunterdon Health and Wellness Centers in Clinton and Whitehouse Station, NJ. The Red Mill Museum’s Haunted Village will be providing decorations and props for the 5K course.
