Atilla Sabahoglu of Somerset and Nicole Strand of Robbinsville were the top male and female finishers in Princeton HealthCare System’s inaugural 5-Mile Race, held last Saturday on the grounds of Educational Testing Service.
Sabahoglu crossed the line at 27:09.41 as the first overall finisher and winner of the men’s 35- to 39-year-old age group. The men’s second overall finisher was Rufino Mendez of Metuchen (29:22.34), who won his 30- to 34-year-old group. Carlos Robles of Trenton (31:11.52) finished third among men and won his age group (50 to 54).
Strand, the third overall finisher, clocked in at 30:17.48 to place first overall among the women and first in her age group (40 to 44). Anna Westrick, MD, of Princeton (34:20.49) placed second overall among women and first in her age group (35 to 39).
Proceeds of the event, which also featured a 1-Mile Fun Walk preceding the race, benefited the Jim Craigie Center for Joint Replacement at University Medical Center of Princeton.
