On Oct. 12, Animal Alliance and Caffe Galleria in Lambertville will co-host the fourth annual "Spay-ghetti and No (meat) Balls" event at the eatery at 23 N. Union St., Lambertville.
At the Sunday Italian dinner, guests will enjoy a three-course meal, including salad, homemade pasta selections and dessert, as well as bread and beverages (BYOB). The event begins at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $55 per person, or $15 per child (includes gratuity) with all proceeds benefiting Planned Pethood, Animal Alliance’s low-cost spay/neuter clinic. Buy tickets on Animal Alliance’s website at www.animalalliancenj.org.
Guests will be seated in the cozy family-style dining room, the green room and on the scenic enclosed porch while dining on fresh, seasonal greens, vodka rigatoni, creamy fettuccine Alfredo and, of course, spay-ghetti with choice of sauce. Guests will choose from a variety of homemade desserts from Vegan Treats, recently named one of the Top Ten Bakeries in the world by American Express.
"Caffe Galleria sets the standard for authentic Mediterranean cuisine, so it is a special treat for our supporters and friends to be able to come together for great food at one of Lambertville’s finest establishments," said Anne Trinkle, executive director of the nonprofit Animal Alliance. "This event will help us raise funds to subsidize the low cost spay and neuter surgeries and vaccines offered at Planned Pethood."
At the event, Animal Alliance will honor Caffe Galleria’s founder and longtime owner, Dawn Raia, who passed away earlier this year after a yearlong battle with cancer.
"Dawn was the epitome of what Lambertville is all about — she was known for her friendly way, entrepreneurship and high regard for people of all backgrounds. Dawn is greatly missed, and thought of often," said Ms. Trinkle. "We will be presenting a memorial plaque with our gratitude to Dawn that evening to owner Beth Caruso, Dawn’s partner in business and in life."
Caruso, an animal lover and owner of rescued dog Emma, says, "We at Caffe Galleria are happy to do our part to help raise funds for such a good cause that aids so many pets and their people."
