SOUTH BRUNSWICK: Middle School gridders blank Elizabeth 34-0

The South Brunswick Middle School football program opened up its season with a big 34-0 victory over Elizabeth Middle School.
The win was the 50th with just 10 losses for seventh year coach Jake Rodriguez.
Coach Rodriguez was presented with the game ball to honor his accomplishment.
"I am very lucky to have coached many great athletes and to be surrounded by an incredible staff," said Rodriguez.
The Vikings were leading 22-0 at halftime behind a 23-yard scoring run by Kalebu Martin and a 42-yard run by Christian Spanos.
The second half kickoff was returned 78 yards for a touchdown by quarterback A.J. Taylor who also added a two point conversion.
Later, Taylor connected on a 74-yard touchdown pass to James Dixon, and Jason Biggs ended the scoring with a 16-yard run.
The strong defense is led by Matt Lauri, Kurious Ward, C.J. Smith, Sameer Sharma, Colin Seavers and Michael Slover.
Rodriguez is aided in coaching by assistants Mike Muha, Bruce Boehm, Mike Buttita, Kenny Rogers, and Mike Ballo.
The team’s next opponent are the Plainfield Cardinals.
