More than 200 quilts will be displayed from Oct. 3-5 in the historic setting of Prallsville Mills at 31 Risler St., (Route 29), Stockton.
Hosted by the Courthouse Quilters Guild (CHQ), the biennial "Quilts in the Mill" show will be open from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. daily.
As a special attraction on Oct. 4 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m., Linda J. Hahn, author, designer and national teacher, will share her quilts and demonstrate her technique from her latest book, "New York Beauty, Diversified."
Other show attractions include daily demonstrations of quilting techniques, door prizes, miniature quilt raffles, and the raffle of a spectacular queen-size quilt, designed and stitched by guild members.
Attendees also may shop at the vendor mart, and browse the CHQ Boutique, which offers a selection of handcrafted items.
A lunch café will provide onsite dining.
Free parking is available, but limited, so carpooling is encouraged. Admission is $7; for $1 off the admission price and more information about the show and the guild, visit www.courthousequilters.com.
A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Delaware River Mill Society.
Founded in 1988, CHQ is dedicated to the preservation of quilting heritage through education and fellowship. The guild is made up of nearly 100 members from New Jersey and Pennsylvania, who range from beginners to national contest winners.
CHQ meets 12 times a year on the second Sunday of the month, except for May when the meeting is the third Sunday. Meetings are held at 6:30 p.m. in The Darcy Lodge, 39 Everittstown Road (Route 513) in Frenchtown.
They include a discussion of guild business, refreshments and socializing, show-and-tell and a program, often a lecture and trunk show by a noted quilt expert. In addition, CHQ hosts several daytime workshops each year, led by local or nationally recognized instructors or experienced guild members.
