– Poricy Park has two events set for Oct. 5
The Poricy Park Conservancy will host “Antique Appraisals and Backward Glances” from 1-4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 5, at 345 Oak Hill Road, Middletown.
Bring your antique treasures for review by professional appraiser, Ina Giardina, owner of Summit Antiques Center. Pre-register by sending an email to [email protected] or faxing a request to 732-842-6833. Your email or fax must include your name and a brief description of the item(s) you wish to have appraised. The appraisal fee is $5 for the first item and $3 for additional items. You may bring up to five items to be appraised, and you will be assigned a time to meet with Giardina. Appraisals will take place between 1-3 p.m. If you do not pre-register, you will be assigned a time upon arrival, based on availability.
At 1 p.m. in the Nature Center, Dorn’s Classic Images will present, “Backward Glances,” a display of images that document life in Monmouth County during the past 100 years. The images possess historical relevance, nostalgic charm and human interest with clarity, extraordinary lighting and compelling composition. A brief video presentation of classic images, accompanied by original music, will begin at 3 p.m. This event is free.
Copies of the video, along with Dorn’s 2015 photography calendar of local water scenes, will be on sale at the park’s gift shop. Reproductions of all images on display will also be available for sale. Partial proceeds of all sales will benefit Poricy Park Conservancy.
Antique vendors interested in reserving space can call the Nature Center at 732-842-5966 or visit www.PoricyPark.org for a registration form.
