CentraState opens new lactation center in First Impressions Maternity Center

CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township, announces the opening of The Lactation Center at CentraState in its First Impressions Maternity Center. The Lactation Center at CentraState offers a comfortable and supportive environment to help educate, counsel and support breastfeeding mothers. During one-on-one consultations in a private setting, a board-certified lactation consultant can assist new mothers with a variety of concerns, including:

 assessment of a mother’s milk supply and infant’s intake during feeding

 instruction on latching and positioning techniques

 instruction on breastfeeding and going back to work

 choosing the right breastfeeding pump

CentraState also offers a wide range of prenatal and parenting classes through its Star and Barry Tobias Health Awareness Center. Expectant and new mothers can find classes to help plan for a healthy pregnancy, prepare for childbirth, or learn how to comfort a newborn through infant massage, among others.
