Archaeology and apples
at the Trenton House
The 1719 William Trent House Museum is inviting the public to witness the opening of an archaeology "dig," from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the house, located at 15 Market St. in Trenton.
The dig is being done as research to locate the house’s distinctive kitchen addition, including quarters for slaves referenced in 18th-century maps and documents. It’s one of a series of activities marking the 75th anniversary of the house’s opening as a museum.
Apple Day will also be celebrated at the Trent House on this day. Guests can participate in the process of making fresh-pressed apple juice the old-fashioned way, and enjoy apple crafts and activities for the whole family. Free cider and donuts.

Members of the public will be invited to participate in a special walk-through of the house that showcases the restoration process as well as furnished rooms.
During the morning, games, ice cream making and other children’s activities will be offered on the farmhouse front lawn. Exterior tours of the house will feature the kitchen garden, windmill and icehouse. Admission to the farm and grand opening is free. Hayrides, food service, and a children’s craft program, "Quilt Pictures," can be purchased.
