HILLSBOROUGH: Resident doesn’t want more signs for township

To the editor:
A few weeks ago I read an article in this newspaper from the Democrat candidates for Township Committee about their so-called plans to fill vacant businesses. In their article, they claim there are no plans to get stores into the Kmart shopping center, but on the front page of the same edition of the Beacon, there is a full article about the businesses that are moving to town.
Besides being dangerously uniformed about the business climate in the township, these candidates are trying to turn our main corridor into Route 3, Route 18 or Route 22 with all the signs they are proposing.
In the article, they wanted more commercial signs along Route 206 for businesses. I can only imagine if the Democrats were in charge when Sonic wanted to move to town the gigantic neon signs that they would have allowed. I for one do not want Route 206 to turn into Route 18 with a million signs.
If the Democrat candidates are selling more signs, I’m not buying!
