Michael Pressel, Hopewell Township
I strongly urge and challenge Hopewell Township, Pennington Borough and Hopewell Borough to draft resolutions opposing the PennEast Pipeline.
The proposed pipeline is planned to traverse numerous parcels of land that the citizens and governments of Mercer County and the State of New Jersey have spent tens of millions of dollars to preserve. Our towns have time and again voted in favor of preserving the natural resources and character of our communities; the proposed pipeline would create an irreversible scar on these preserved land and violates the will of the people and their personal and collective sacrifices made to preserve this land.
All the local bodies of government should support their constituents by collectively and overtly opposing the PennEast Pipeline by drafting resolutions to oppose it and to take whatever other measures may be at their disposal to quash the project.
