Riverview Medical Center has announced the new members of the Riverview Medical Center Foundation Board of Trustees, who include Hilary DiPiero, Charles E. Komar, Shawn Reynolds, Jonathan Schultz, Danielle Sherwood and Benedict J. Torcivia Jr.
DiPiero is a board member of Horizons, where she co-chaired both the 2013 and 2014 Albert E. Martin Jr. Hoops for Horizons event. She also served on the committees for the 180 Turning Lives Around Gala and Monmouth County Historical Association Tea with Me Benefit. She and her husband, Domenic, chaired the 2013 Meridian Health Gala, netting $500,000 for Meridian Health programs and services. In 2013, her family hosted the inaugural Riverview Medical Center Foundation Family Fireworks event.
Komar is the president and CEO of Komar, a third-generation global consumer products company specializing in sleepwear. Komar serves on the boards and executive committees of American Apparel, National Footwear Association and Amboy Bank. He is a past president of the Navesink Country Club.
Reynolds is a co-portfolio manager of the Van Eck Global Hard Assets Fund and Van Eck VIP Global Hard Assets Fund. Prior to joining Van Eck, he served as an energy analyst covering U.S. oil and gas exploration and production companies at Petrie Parkman & Co. He is the current chairman of the board for the Rumson Country Day School.
Schultz is the co-founder, managing principal and investment committee officer of Onyx Equities LLC and a member of the Metro NY chapter of YPO. As a founding board member of the Award of Courage Foundation, he raised significant funds for the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and is a past recipient of their Humanitarian
Award.
Sherwood is a former chief operating officer of Alson Capital Partners, Lehman Brothers Mergers & Acquisitions and Banc of America Securities Investment Bank. She is currently the board president of 180 Turning Lives Around, an executive committee member of Horizons Advisory Board and a past trustee of the Rumson Country Day School.
Torcivia is co-president of Torcon Inc., a family-owned construction services organization. He is a member of the Red Bank YMCA Foundation Board. He formerly served as chairman of the Building and Grounds Committee of the Rumson Country Day School and the Sea Bright Planning and Zoning Board. He recently served as board president of the Building Contractors Association of New Jersey and is presently the treasurer of the Associated Construction Contractors of New Jersey.
Gold Medal Service, an award-winning heating, cooling, plumbing, electrical, drain cleaning and waterproofing service company based out of East Brunswick that services all of New Jersey, was recently accredited as a Building Performance Institute, Inc. (BPI) GoldStar Contractor.
BPI sets national standards for residential energy efficiency and weatherization retrofit work. Through the BPI GoldStar Contractor program, contractors learn best practices for service improvement through quality management training and contractor mentoring.
Contractors must agree to adhere to BPI standards when conducting heating and air conditioning or other home services. BPI conducts data review of members’ jobs and may occasionally perform in-field quality assurance testing.
