Mohammed Jabbie, a junior and upcoming feature player on the South Brunswick Vikings football squad has announced that he has accepted an offer of early commitment to the Rutgers Scarlet Knights.
"I committed Oct. 6," Jabbie said following Friday night’s victory over the East Brunswick Bears. " I love Rutgers a lot. It has always been my dream school."
Jabbie, who had attended Brunswick Acres and Brooks Crossing elementary schools and Crossroads North middle school, will be following in his uncle’s footsteps.
His uncle, Mohamad Sanu, who starred for Rutgers is now one of the Cincinnati Bengals main offensive weapons at wide receiver.
"It is great to hear. Little Mo has really worked hard and he deserves it," Sanu said. "I know that he will do well. I did not push him to go to Rutgers. I thought that he should make up his own mind but I know that’s where he’s been wanting to go ever since I played there."
Jabbe said he has not decided on a major as of yet and is only focusing on his current season with the Vikings and bringing another state championship back to South Brunswick.
