A Kenworth T80 dump truck worth $40,000 was reported stolen on Sunday at 7:20 p.m. Police said the victim reported that between Sept. 22 and Sunday someone had taken the truck from 1103 Route 130. The theft is under investigation by the Criminal Investigation Unit.
Police are investigating separate reports of the theft of a debit card and a credit card from the victims’ lockers at Work Out World, on Route 130 south. Police said a victim reported the theft of a debit card from her wallet that was in a locker between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. Sept. 29. The card was used to make $459 in purchases, police said.
On Sept. 30, police said a victim reported a credit card removed from her locker between 6:30 and 7:40 p.m. The card was used to make $595 in purchases, police said.
Both thefts are being investigated by the Criminal Investigation Unit. Police said that so far there are no suspects in either theft .
A Langhorne, Pennsylvania, man has been charged with possession of heroin after he was arrested on I-195 in the township. At 12:50 a.m. Oct. 11 Edward Kerwin, 38, was stopped on the shoulder of the highway near Exit 7 with two flat tires and the hazard lights flashing, police reported. Mr. Krwin was suspected of being a possible intoxicated driver and failed field sobriety tests, police said. A search of his vehicle turned up what police said was a small quantity of heroin along with drug paraphernalia. In addition to possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia, he was charged with driving while intoxicated, careless driving, reckless driving, being an unlicensed driver, leaving the scene of an accident and having a controlled dangerous substance in a vehicle. He was released pending an appearance in court.
Two Neptune men were charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia on Oct. 10 at 12:34 p.m. Police stopped their vehicle on I-195 near Exit 7 for tailgating. The driver, Stafford Hoffman, 52, and his passenger, Richard Zawistowski, 51, were charged with the narcotics offenses. Mr. Hoffman was also charged with following too closely, being an unlicensed driver, driving while suspended and having CDS in a motor vehicle. They were processed and released pending a court date.
The owners of two vehicles told police that overnight on Oct. 5 someone entered their unlocked vehicles while they were parked at different locations on Windswept Drive. Police said $5 in coins was removed from one and $2 in coins from the other. The Criminal Investigation Unit is investigating.
Taras Vanhise, 21, of Bordentown was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of prescription legend drugs after a motor vehicle stop on Route 130 south at 11:56 p.m. Oct. 1. He was also charged with having an unregistered vehicle, violation of a provisional license and having CDS in a motor vehicle. He was released pending a court appearance.
Elisha McClease, 26, of Trenton was charged with receiving stolen property after police stopped the vehicle she was driving at 11:13 p.m. Oct. 2 on I-195 west near Exit 3. Police said the vehicle had been reported stolen from Ewing. She was transported to the Mercer County Work House in default of $25,000 bail.
