Committee addressed Holmdel’s fire risk

Recently, the Holmdel Township Committee was faced with a public safety crisis that placed the fire coverage of Holmdel at risk.

Mayor Pat Impreveduto, Greg Buontempo and the rest of the committee took action to remedy the problem. The committee reorganized Holmdel’s fire companies so that all properties are no more than 2 1/2 miles from the nearest firehouse.

A new central station will be located near Town Hall and will, for the first time, be staffed on a 24-hour basis. The increase of fire stations to three ensures that response times will be quicker. Buontempo’s plan to consolidate the town’s fire departments into one will provide for a more directed and timely response. Impreveduto’s leadership was key in having the plan implemented quickly to ensure the ongoing safety of Holmdel’s residents.

Thank you to Mayor Pat Impreveduto and Greg Buontempo for displaying the courage and leadership that our town needs.
