HOWELL — Managing a good credit score can be a difficult task, but an upcoming workshop will give people tips so they can learn how to control their finances.

On Oct. 23, a free workshop, “Credit Reporting and Managing Your Budget,” will be presented by attorney George E. Veitengruber III of Veitengruber Law, Ocean Township.

Veitengruber’s presentation will take place at the Howell Library, 318 Old Tavern Road, from 7-8:30 p.m.

Veitengruber Law provides services for loan modification, bankruptcy, family and adoption law, estate planning, real estate transactions, collections, credit repair and civil litigation, according to its website.

An individual’s credit report can affect many financial decisions that will be made during the course of his or her life, according to Ivy Jacot, assistant to Veitengruber and marketing director for Veitengruber Law.

“The event will teach people all there is to know about credit scores, which is important to know in daily life, so we are encouraging all members of the public to attend this session,” Jacot said.

The workshop is open to everyone, and the law firm is encouraging real estate agents and car salesmen to attend so they can better understand credit scores, according to Jacot. Attendees will learn how to read a credit report accurately and repair a damaged credit score, among other relevant information.

“During the event, people will have the opportunity to have a private consultation with us to see what the best solution to their credit score problems would be,” Jacot said.

A second workshop is scheduled for Oct. 30 at the Colts Neck Library, Winthrop Drive, Colts Neck, from 7-8:30 p.m.
