The athletic stadium at Howell High School will be filled with music during the Freehold Regional High School District’s Marching Band Festival on Oct. 21. The marching band from each school will showcase its skills while performing its halftime shows to attendees.
The festival serves to highlight the hours of preparation and rehearsal that students and teachers apply to each halftime show. When considered collectively, thousands of hours are spent writing, rewriting, studying, rehearsing and performing the shows, according to a press release.
The range and scope of each show is distinct and varied, providing the district’s students with many musical opportunities.
The instrumental music programs of all six high schools are part of the curricular and co-curricular hours of the school day.
The time spent in band serves not only to educate students in music and related subject areas, but to showcase talent and teach character, respect and dedication, according to the press release.
The marching band show will begin at 6 p.m. Oct. 21 in the Howell High School athletic stadium, 405 Squankum-Yellowbrook Road, Howell. The rain date for the festival is Oct. 28.
