METUCHEN — The borough-based Shroff Family Foundation has established the Shroff Family Endowed Scholarship Fund in Chemical Engineering at the University of Florida, Gainesville, thanks to a $100,000 gift provided by Jay and Yogini Shroff.
The endowment will be used to award an annual scholarship to a deserving chemical engineering student with demonstrated financial need and merit-based achievement.
Jay Shroff graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from the University of Florida in 1965.
The scholarship has a direct impact on the University of Florida in its mission to provide a diverse educational environment for students and to recruit, retain and graduate students with a world-class education, according to university representatives.
