Freehold Borough pupils honored

FREEHOLD — A recent Freehold Borough K-8 School District Board of Education meeting brought news that 36 current and former district students have been honored for earning a perfect score of 300 on the New Jersey Assessment of Skills and Knowledge (NJASK) in mathematics.

Each student received a certificate and was congratulated by Board President Annette Jordan and Vice President Dr. Michael Lichardi.

The students in the “Superintendent’s 300 Club” will have their photograph posted outside the district’s administrative offices.

“We had many students earn a designation of advanced proficient on the NJASK in language arts, mathematics and science,” Freehold Borough Superintendent of Schools Rocco Tomazic said. “But these students distinguished themselves by achieving a perfect score on the mathematics section of the test. We were delighted to celebrate their success.”

The NJASK assessment was administered to all New Jersey public school students in April and May.
