Oct. 17-19: "Trip to Italy." Friday at 7 and 9 p.m.; Saturday at 9 p.m.; Sunday at 5 p.m.
In this followup to the 2010 film, "The Trip," comedians Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon reunite for a new culinary road trip, retracing the steps of the Romantic poets’ grand tour of Italy. The characters enjoy mouthwatering meals in gorgeous settings from Liguria to Capri while riffing on subjects as varied as Batman’s vocal register, the artistic merits of "Jagged Little Pill," and the virtue of sequels. NR, 107 minutes.
— Oct. 18: "American Meat" — 6:30 p.m. for the film and 8 p.m. for a panel discussion with writer/editor Memo Salazar, Professor Joe Heckman and Jeanmarie Mitchell of Tullamore Farms.
"American Meat" is a pro-farmer look at chicken, hog and cattle production in America. Beginning with a history of the current industrial system, the feedlots and confinement operations are unveiled, not through hidden cameras, but through the eyes of the farmers who live and work there. From there, the story shifts to Polyface Farms, where the Salatin family has developed an alternative agricultural model based on rotational grazing and local distribution. NR. 85 minutes.
— Oct. 19 — Open house continuous loop on the 200-year-old New Hope-Lambertville bridge, 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
Acme presents the bridge film as part of the Lambertville Historical Society’s house tour. Take a break from the tour, and check out this film, which will run on a 30-minute loop. Historical photos of the bridge will be on display in the lobby.
