A quartet of regional singer-songwriters will present an intimate, candlelit evening of music Oct. 18 at the historic Old Franklin Schoolhouse, 491 Middlesex Ave., Metuchen.
Sponsored by the Metuchen Arts Council, the evening, which includes refreshments, will be the second installment of the Schoolhouse Songwriter Series, a quarterly music event hosted by Metuchen-based singer-songwriter Sharon Goldman. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and music starts at 8 p.m. The cost is $10 per person; $5 for seniors and kids under 12. BYOB is encouraged.
For this autumn installment, Goldman has invited Paul Sachs, Allison Tartalia and George Wirth to join her in sharing original music in an in-the-round format. Made famous by Nashville’s Bluebird Cafe, the format has each artist singing a song and then handing it off to the next performer.
Parking is available on Middlesex Avenue and in the Borough Hall parking lot across the street. For more information, call Nancy Goldberg at 732-632-8502 or email [email protected].
