Shelikescandy was the sweetest of all, winning the $25,000 New Jersey Sire Stakes – Green Acres Final for 3-year-old trotting fillies on Oct. 9 at Freehold Raceway.
The daughter of Chocolatier, driven by Steve Smith and trained by Dawn Anderson, bested a field of three in a non-wagering event. She stayed flat; the other two starters did not. The margin of victory was 14¾ lengths with a clocking of 2:03.3.
Revergreen [Revenue] was second and Coin Collector [Chocolatier] was distanced.
Shelikescandy completed a sweep of the four-week Green Acres and improved her record to five wins and one third in 16 starts this year. Lifetime, she has finished in the money in 11 of 22 starts. Bred by Dr. Stephen Perrine Dey, she has earned $67,009 for owner George Beck of Freehold.
In a $7,000 second-round Green Acres for 3-year-old trotting colts and geldings, also contended prior to the betting card, Choco Sun [Chocolatier] held on for a head victory over Angels Ransom [Revenue] in 1:58.2.
It was a length back to Holiday Spirit [Chocolatier] in third.
Choco Sun has now won two straight in Green Acres action. The Orjan Torstensson trainee was driven to victory by Jim Meittinis.
Choco Sun, owned by Eirik Djuve Inc. of Bordentown, picked up his second win with a second and two thirds from eight starts this year. He has finished in the money in 10 of 15 career starts, earning $51,706.

The East Brunswick Wrestling Club is holding youth wrestling registration for boys and girls in grades K-8 from East Brunswick, Milltown, Spotswood, Helmetta and South River.
The walk-in registration is Oct. 20, from 6:30-8 p.m. at Churchill Junior High School.

Red Bank Regional Junior Bucs Wrestling will conduct two in-person signups for the 2014-15 season on Oct. 25 and Nov. 1 from 9 a.m. to noon. Both signups will be in the RBR Field House. Please enter door #3 (door closest to cannons).
This program is open to all first through eighth grade wrestlers from Red Bank, Little Silver and Shrewsbury.
The program will usually practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays at RBR High School. The program has many levels from beginner to advanced.

Chiebuka Chukwuneke, a freshman from Edison, is a member of the football team for the University of Findlay. He plays defensive back for the Oilers, who are led by Robert Keys. Since starting as head coach at Findlay, Keys has led the Division II team to three consecutive winning seasons, with a 21-11 record.
