WEST AMWELL: Vehicle stop results in extradition to Morris

A stop for a motor vehicle violation in West Amwell Township resulted in a Pennsylvania man being taken to Morris County to face a burglary charge.
Township Police Detective Edward Skillman stopped a vehicle on Route 202 in the area of Wertsville Road for a motor vehicle violation on Oct. 13 at about 2:29 p.m.
A computer check for the driver, Scott Curtis, 22, from Kennett Square, Pa., showed that he had pending warrants from Totowa and Bernards Township municipal courts totaling $2,850. The computer check also showed that the Morris County Prosecutor wanted him for failing to appear in court for a burglary charge. Mr. Curtis was turned over to Morris prosecutors.

— Patrolman Joseph Cesare stopped a vehicle on Route 29 in the area of Weeden Street for a motor vehicle violation on Oct. 14, at about 9:02 p.m. The driver, Eric Major, 22, from Titusville was arrested for possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Mr. Major was issued several motor vehicle summonses and was released with a court date after processing.
— On Sept. 28, at about 2:05 a.m. stopped a vehicle on Route 29 in the area of Valley Road for an alleged motor vehicle violation. A computer check for the driver, Joseph Sesar, 18, from Morrisville, Pa., showed that he had pending traffic warrants from Wall Township totaling $400.
A passenger, John Ellis 21, from Levittown, Pa., was arrested for possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. They were both issued several motor vehicle summonses. Two juvenile females were taken into protective custody and turned over to their parents. After processing Mr. Sesar and Mr. Ellis were released with a court date.
— On Sept. 22, at about 1:23 a.m. Detective Edward Skillman stopped a vehicle driven by Mihail Murati, 23, from Philadelphia for a motor vehicle violation. A computer check showed that Mr. Murati had a pending warrant from Wildwood Municipal Court for $358. Mr. Murati was arrested, transported to police headquarters, processed and released with a court date.
— On Sept. 13, at about 11:10 p.m. Patrolman Jonathan Sellner came upon a vehicle in the George Washington Overlook Park after hours. The officer located the occupants of the vehicle and, after a brief investigation, arrested Luis Garcia-Valencia, 20, from Lambertville and Bridget Kenion, 19, from Wallingford, Pa., for possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. After processing, they were released with a court date.
