To the editor:
As a resident of Manville for the past 10 years, I have seen many examples of misconduct and abuses of power by local Democrats. Recently however the misconduct by irresponsible elected officials in Manville are far beyond comprehension.
For instance, early this year Democrats tried to change a long standing nepotism policy that prevents the hiring of relatives to actually hire their relatives. The nepotism policy is in place to ensure the proper trust in our local elected officials to uphold fair hiring practices. Councilman Ed Komoroski had the audacity to attempt to change those standards so that only relatives of public officials would be hired but was thwarted by responsible Republican council members of Steve Szabo, Sue Asher and Rich Onderko.
Further, time and again Councilman Komoroski has proven himself to be nothing more than a bully. I was in attendance at a council meeting when I heard Councilman Komoroski physically threaten a senior citizen when Komoroski was questioned over a recreation event which he attended that was held on school grounds where drunkenness and smoking occurred. By simply asking why no responsible disciplinary action was taken, Councilman Komoroski said "I will kick your God damn ass if you accuse me of drinking". The senior citizen was frightened for his safety. The Mayor immediately called for a recess over such an outrageous statement by an elected official and asked Councilman Komoroski to apologize.
I urge Manville voters to elect responsible people to council. Support my wife, Dayna Camacho, and Steve Szabo to restore the trust to our local government.
