SOUTH BRUNSWICK: Girls Soccer seniors celebrated

By Azra Baig, Special Writer
On Tuesday, Oct. 14, the South Brunswick Lady Vikings improved their record to 14-1 by beating Columbia with a score of 5-0.
Goals were scored by Nicole Cavett, Samantha Disario, Julianna Franco and two goals by Michaela Knoblock.
It was a special night at the South Brunswick Stadium Field, recognizing a total of 14 Senior soccer players.
The Senior players were all escorted by family members onto the field and given flowers.
A group picture with the parents and the players was taken.
The Varsity Head Coach Beth Barrio said, "I could not believe the mass of people at midfield after all of the Seniors and their families walked out. It was an amazing scene and one that brought back many memories for me of all the time we have been together."
Looking ahead in the season, Coach Barrio said, "We are working on these last few season games as set up games for the upcoming county tournament. The one and done situation of the tournament does not allow for a lack of effort or missed opportunities throughout a game. The girls are refocusing on the fundamentals they will need to use as we move into the post season."
