New Jersey Governor’s Conference on Volunteerism and Service
680,000 veterans die every year in the U.S. – 25 percent of all deaths. Hospice caregivers and volunteers are working to help these heroes at life’s end.
Life Choice Hospice Volunteer Coordinator, Sharon Caccamo, along with Melissa A. Heinlein from the Philadelphia Veterans Affairs Medical Center, will present a workshop titled “Volunteering for Veterans” at the New Jersey Governor’s Conference on Volunteerism and Service. The 2014 conference, The Power of One, will be held on Monday, November 17th at the Hyatt Regency in New Brunswick.
Ms. Caccamo will lead an interactive discussion on how volunteers can make a difference for Veterans through their participation in the full spectrum of their healthcare. Topics will include everything from Adaptive Sports programs to Hospice care and will include input from Veterans and Volunteers alike.
