People are invited to stroll art and design shops in Lambertville from 3 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 1, in a free event called Wine and Design that hopes to combine artists, local designers and fine wine.
Wine and Design does not stop and start at a specific place; it is more of an open house-type event. Maps will be available at about 40 retail shops as well as the Chamber office at 59 N. Union Street, as well as at volunteer tables on Church and Bridge streets, or at any of the participating retailer’s locations. Volunteers will be milling about helping people find stores and galleries.
Wine & Design is sponsored by the Lambertville Area Chamber of Commerce.
More than 40 retailers, galleries, and specialty shops are joining forces for this event, combining the best of local art and design with fine wines.
Each art and antiques retailer will be serving one variety of wine, chosen to pair with the gallery’s style and personality. More than wineries and vineyards will be represented. Perhaps your taste is impressionist with pinot, or eclectic with cabernet. Wine & Design aims to have the pairing for you.
"Lambertville is not only a mecca to interior designers, architects, art collectors and stylists, but to home decor enthusiasts from New York City to Philadelphia and beyond," said event co-chair and gallery owner Jeffrey Meier.
Each visitor to the Wine & Design event will be given a colorful map to help them navigate to 40 local shops and their libations. Chamber of Commerce volunteers will be on staff to make sure guests are headed in the right direction.
Retailers and galleries are participating in Wine & Design are encouraged to offer a special activity — whether a class or seminar, a sommelier explaining a vine variety, or a hands-on workshop meant to unleash your inner artist.
Rain date is Nov. 2. Local musicians and area bands will be both on-street and within individual galleries.
