An Interfaith Dialog: "How can faith adapt to modern times?" will be held at Dorothea Dix Unitarian Universalist Community, 39 Park St., Bordentown, from 7 to 9 p.m. Free. Discussion with local religious leaders including professor Manzoor Hussain, Rabbi Julie Pfau, Mahan Rishi Singh Khalsa, John Zerillo, the Rev. Elizabeth Vaneekhoven, Father Vincent Burke and the Rev. Emyo Bizub. Panelists will share their perspectives and address questions from the audience. Light refreshments will follow discussion.

A free screening to the movie "Forbidden Planet" will be held at 7 p.m. at the Dorothea Dix Unitarian Universalist Community, 39 Park St., Bordentown,Starring Walter Pidgeon, Anne Francis, and Leslie Nielson (Yes, that Leslie Nielson). Discussion will follow. Fifty-eight years after its debut, the special effects still dazzle. Based loosely on Shakespeare’s "The Tempest."

The Bordentown Presbyterian Church will hold its monthly Café 420 at 7 p.m. at 420 Farnsworth Ave., Bordentown. This month’s event will feature Blue Jersey Band, who play a mix of swing, gypsy, jazz and bluegrazz. Suggested free will donation of $10 includes free refreshments. A Fall Festival sponsored by the Women’s Society of the First Baptist Church of Bordentown, Church and Prince streetsm will be held from 9 .m. to 3 p.m. One half of the proceeds will be donated to The Maddie Fund. Madeline is the 1 year old daughter of church members, Janet and Donald Struze. Maddie has Williams Ssndrome (www.williams-syndrom.org) and money raised will help with medical expenses.

Michele Byers, executive director of the New Jersey Conservation Foundation, will speak on "Land Preservation Where You Live" at a Crosswicks-Doctors Creek Watershed Association social and educational event between 1:30 and 4 p.m. at the Osteria Procaccini Restaurant at 2 Crosswicks-Chesterfield Road, Crosswicks. The Bordentown Turkey Trot and 5K will take place in Joseph Lawrence Park, 323 Ward Ave., Bordentown. Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m., with a family fun walk beginning at 9 a.m., and the timed 5K run at 10 a.m. This event serves as a fundraiser for the Foundation for Bordentown Traditions, a nonprofit organization with a purpose to create new community events, and raise funds to restore past events, which have been cut due to lack of funding. Holy Cross Lutheran Church holds its Christmas Bazaar from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the church, 280 Crosswicks Road, Bordentown , with more than 20 vendors/crafters; Raffle Table with many baskets/tickets to win, and Santa will attend. Professional Pictures are available again this year.

Bordentown Elks Lodge 2085 has bingo every Tuesday at 7:15 p.m. Doors open at 5 p.m. There is a progressive jackpot, and food is available for purchase. The lodge has sandwich night every Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. The price is $6 per person. Lodge 2085 hosts a breakfast the third Sunday of every month from 8 to 11 a.m. All proceeds benefit the Special Children’s Committee.
The Consolidated Fire Association will sponsor Bingo every Wednesday night at St. Mary’s School starting Sept. 18. The doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and the games will start at 7 p.m.

The club meets the first and third Monday of each month at 1 p.m. at the Senior Community Center on Municipal Drive. All township seniors age 55 and older are welcome.
For the 10th year, Holy Cross Lutheran Church will have youth groups for children and teens in grades K-12.
The CREW is broken into two groups. JV CREW is for children in kindergarten through second grade and Varsity CREW is for children in third grade through fifth grade. They gather twice a month to explore Christian faith through crafts, games, stories and more.

The GANG also has two groups. GANG Jr. is for young adults in sixth grade through eighth grade. GANG Sr. is for young adults in ninth grade through 12th grade. The GANG usually holds two meetings, an activity, a fundraiser and community service event a month.
The season typically starts after a mid-September kick-off and ends in June, though some summer activities are planned to keep the groups connected all year long.
