Patrick Del Piano, Arthur Robinson, and Deven Patel were re-elected for another three-year term as members of the Board of Education on Tuesday.
The only other candidate on the ballot, Anil Patel of Monmouth Junction, finished 729 votes behind the final successful candidate.
The unofficial vote tallies showed Mr. Del Piano with 4,040 votes, Mr. Robinson with 3,756 and Deven Patel with 3,024 votes.
Approximately 7,000 of the community’s 28,000 registered voters went to the polls Tuesday.
The incumbents, and other board members, attended the post election celebration by the Democratic Party at the Veterans of Foreign wars Post 9111 in Kendall Park.
"I really appreciate all of the support that I received from my friends and associates in the township," said Mr. Del Piano, who won his second term. "I have found that knowing the kids and being there for the kids of this district is what it is all about. I truly am giving my services back to the town every day. I won this election based on my actions and only put up five campaign signs throughout the district."
"Every election presents a challenge," Arthur Robinson, a resident of Kendall Park, said. "I was very happy that a fourth person (Anil Patel) got involved and made this a race. I hope that Mr. Patel remains committed and aids the board by becoming active as a member of some of our standing committees."
Deven Patel praised the good turnout in South Brunswick.
"I hope that my work for the board for the last three years has helped the district," he said. "I am deeply grateful for the roles that teachers, and the staff provide to our school aged children at all times."
Anil Patel was not available for comments after the voting was announced.
Board Vice President Daniel Boyle said he was "very satisfied with the results of the election," and wished the successful candidates the best of luck in their future three-year term.
