SENIOR CENTER: Nov. 6

The senior center is normally open Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.–2:30 p.m.
A suggested lunch donation of $2 is recommended for individuals age 60 and older. The cost of lunch for those younger than age 60 is $6.50. Call 908-369-8700 before 10:30 a.m. the day before to make a lunch reservation.
Transportation is available for those who do not drive.
Bingo is played every Wednesday at 11:15 a.m.
Birthdays are celebrated the fourth Wednesday of the month.
An aerobic chair exercise class is held every Monday and Wednesday from 9:45-10:45 a.m. Low-impact aerobic exercise classes are Thursdays from 9:45-10:45 a.m. Both are sponsored by the Manville Recreation Department.
A Zumba Gold exercise class is held Tuesdays from 9:45-10:45 a.m.

Thursday, Nov. 6 — Nancy Rosa Mejias, the coordinator of Family and Community Health Sciences for the Rutgers Cooperative Extension, will talk about the apple. Enjoy tasting favorite varieties while learning about its history and health benefits.

Wednesday, Nov. 12 — Visit to the Quail Brook Senior Center for “Thanksgiving: A Holiday & Action Word” by Trish Chambers, Trish Chambers Productions, 10:30 a.m. A recreation of the first Thanksgiving, Pilgrims and original meaning.
Friday, Nov. 14 — Craft: Creating a scarecrow, 10:45 a.m.

Tuesday, Nov. 18 — “Do You Know What Hospice Offers to Clients” by Mary Ellen Day, Compassionate Care Hospice.
Monday, Nov. 19 — State Health Insurance Program counseling with Nancye Kearns. A counselor will be available to provide free help to New Jersey Medicare beneficiaries, who have problems with, or questions about their health insurance.

Monday, Nov. 24 — Dance performance by the Franklin High Steppers.
Tuesday, Nov. 25 — Create a one-of-a-kind ceramic mug or bowl, 11:45 a.m. Registration is required by calling Lisa Carra at 908-526-0175. There is a $17 program fee that includes the cost of supplies. Suggested lunch donation for those 60 and above is $2 and $6.75 for those under age 60.
